We've all heard of the importance of cleaning our fruits, veggies & greens before we eat them. Same goes for the adult greens. Yup you heard right, it's always a good idea to clean your bud before making your canna-butter or canna-oil. I don't mean taking it and scrubbing it down with some dish soap, this cleaning is done simply, by taking your bud and soaking it in distilled water for a couple of days changing it about every 12 hours.

Think about this. If you were to just simmer your unwashed flower in a pot with butter/oil and water you're also simmering along with it any impurities from the flower which can then effect the quality of the taste. Not only the impurities, such as pesticides but also chlorophyll which naturally occurs in green leaves because of, well science. You can imagine chlorophyll having a a very distinct flavor that you're probably not gonna appreciate tasting in your food.

Your goal when cooking with cannabis is to enjoy it right? I sure don't want my food tasting like chlorophyll. By cleaning your weed before you cook with it, you're getting a more purer flower so you can infuse it safely into your butter or oil.

At Athenas Gifts we see the importance of cleaning our weed prior to infusing it into our treats to make sure you're getting all of the good and none of the bad. We have a great selection of flowers and treats to choose from. Just take a look at our menu and see how you can donate to get gifted. We are located in the DC area so if you're from DC and you're curious as to where to get weed in DC, we got what you're looking for!
