I don't know about you but I feel like I haven't slept in ages. With the whirlwind of COVID, momming, wife-ing, preparing for school (for both, my son and I) and working, I feel like the only time I get reacquainted with my bed is when I absolutely have no choice. Honestly, if I didn't forcefully choose my bed every night, I'd probably be slumped on my dining room table or in the shower every other day.
If we don't get an adequate amount of rest, it can affect everything. It can cause forgetfulness, it can make us more accident prone, our time management skills can suffer, and honestly so can our health.
Sleep is very fundamental to allow us to be productive and healthy which is a necessity, not only a woman but as a mother. I know many of you mommies and wives can relate to not getting the proper amount of sleep every night. I mean just the other day I was sweeping around 10 pm and I was so tired, my hand literally lost grip of the broom and I dropped it on my foot, right after I spilled a glass of water all over my counter and floor. That's when I waved my white flag and got my ass to bed. It was not a fun time.
Lucky for us, there are things we can do to help promote more restful sleep. There's meditation, un-plugging, drinking tea, writing, listening to calming music/sounds before bed, giving yourself an actual bedtime every night and for those who don't connect to any of those things, there's always our favorite plant, cannabis (preferably indica). Indica can help us regulate our sleep because of it's ability to chill us out and sedate. Indica is the ideal strain for those suffering from chronic pains, insomnia and anxiety. Count on indica to help level you down so your body can relax and rest. As long as you’re comfy in your bed around the time you normally go to sleep, you should expect to finally get that full night's rest. Truthfully, indica probably won't even give you the chance to scroll through your social media feed or finish that movie you decided to put on at midnight.
At Athena's Gifts, located in the District, we totally get it. Some of us are moms and wives as well and we understand the struggle that sleep deprivation can have on our minds and bodies. Let us help you chill out and find your quiet time. We have edibles, spiked drinks, vape carts, as well as flowers and tinctures to try. Just give our menu a look and see what vibe your trying to ride to finally sleep a full night. Happy toking!
