Our Time to Bloom

March is my favorite month and not just because the weather is starting to get warmer and the flowers are blooming but because it's Woman's History Month.

This is the month when we acknowledge all of the strong, and powerful women before us. It's because of Rosa Parks, Susan B. Anthony, Eleanor Roosevelt, Harriet Tubman, Frida Khalo, Edith Windsor, Wanda James, Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, only naming a few of history's most important women, we are able to live unapologetically and thrive.

It's because of them that we are able to love who we want and be who we want. We are doing it all. We're balancing our careers while being good mothers & wives. We are spreading self love, we're owning businesses and manifesting.

This month represents all the mamas who choose to work while raising their children just as equally as those who choose to stay home to raise the empathetic powerhouses of the future. You are all superheroes.

Let's recognize our ability to not only own a business, but to own a once, male dominated business. The weed culture has been predominantly male for years. Thankfully because of those females throughout our history who didn't just sit down and stay quiet we can do so many things we were once told we couldn't do.

At one point we had to fight (and we still do) to diffuse the stigma of weed being spotlighted as 'improper', 'not lady like' or 'irresponsible'. Females (especially mothers and wives) have to hide our recreational or medicinal uses of cannabis for the fear of it being considered too unorthodox to our female etiquette. Or we were thought to just be 'too delicate' and 'too fragile' to be a part of the culture. But now, we're here and we're dominating it, with grace.

We are more than our appearances. We have a voice and we can make our own decisions. Honestly, the most important thing is that we have the right to choose. We are raising and empowering the next generation of female CEO'S, Scientists, Doctors, Engineers, Artists, Entrepreneurs,.etc.

Our recognition of the most influential women of history is absolutely something worth celebrating. Athena's Gifts is living proof of that. We are a female, minority-owned cannabis company and that combination is just Magick if you ask me.
